Gideon Lichfield is the deputy editor of The Economist online. He has worked for the magazine since 1996, first as a science and technology writer, and then as its correspondent in Mexico City, Moscow and Jerusalem, before moving to New York City in 2009. In his current role he is responsible for innovation across the The Economist’s offerings online and participates in formulating its digital strategy.
