Rescue) system has made the job of search and rescue easier for the entire world. Rescue coordination centers can quickly contact the United States Coast Guard via a Web based application, and obtain a surface picture of Amver participating commercial vessels that are available to come to the aid of mariners in distress.

He will provide best practices for other cities looking to use the technology and insights to Web 2.0 vendors on the issues that local governments are dealing with and the technology they need to address these issues.
CrimeReports.com helps law enforcement agencies communicate more effectively with members of the public using Google Maps and timely, location-based alerts. Since launching in 2007, CrimeReports.com currently works with more than 600 agencies nationwide and is growing by about 10% each month. Participating cities include Los Angeles County, Boston, San Francisco, San Jose and hundreds of others.
Our project brings the government 2.0 movement to the judiciary. RECAP is a project that crowdsources the distribution of federal court documents. This is a departure from the federal courts' system known as PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records), which is cumbersome and charges fees for access. RECAP helps the public directly share federal court documents, for free.
D.C.'s Office of the Chief Technology Officer had its hands full providing support to 83 government agencies while trying to achieve Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's goal for improved transparency, accountability and cost savings.
