Government as a Platform

Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase is a one-day event happening September 8, 2009 that previews our larger Gov 2.0 Expo scheduled for May 2010. The practical, cutting-edge efforts it highlights, married with a profound shift in thinking across the government, are helping to build what Tim O'Reilly has called "government as a platform." On September 8 in Washington DC, 24 innovators will show how this is really happening, concretely, right now, inside (and outside) government.

Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase occurs the day before the Gov 2.0 Summit, an invitation-only gathering of the leadership responsible for this agenda.

Experience Gov 2.0 Expo Showcase

• A collective of speakers to each deliver 5 minute presentations, from one of six different categories
• Each topic category will feature a panel-style discussion with each topic's set of speakers
• Expert judges will score the presentations and hand out the Gov 2.0 Award
• A special 'Apps for Democracy' category will be judged by representatives from the Sunlight Foundation
